MOTORCYCLE/CAR ACCIDENT THIS MORNING

A motorcyclist was taken to a Des Moines hospital this morning after colliding with a car at about 7:25 a.m. in the 1000 block of North Grant Street in Bondurant. The motorcyclist,Joshua Loutsch age 29 of Bondurant, was travelling northbound on Grant Street; to his right, was a vehicle in the right-turn lane approaching Bondurant High School. A third vehicle, a white Chevrolet Malibu, was attempting to leave the Bondurant High School and pulled out in front of the motorcycle.
Loutsch was conscious and able to speak with the deputy upon arrival, but he did suffer a minor head injury; he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The driver of the Malibu,Cynthia Dawson age 43 of Bondurant, was issued a citation for failure to yield when turning left; she was not injured.
Fire/Rescue units from Bondurant and Altoona responded to the accident. Grant Street in the area of the Bondurant High School was closed for approximately one hour.
